Conference : The contradictions of the globalisation of the publishing industry
International projects at the publishing house. Le Seuil
Author/s : Hervé Serry
The French publishing house Le Seuil tried at different moments of its history to develop relations with foreign publishers, for occasional projects or for more formalized relations or economic partnerships. From the beginning, it had established international collaborations through its series of foreign literature, which allowed it to extend its audience. This paper will focus on some projects, mainly that of the series of historical works “Faire l’Europe” (“the making of Europe”) in the 1980’s.
